Are There Significant Health Concerns For Users Of E-Cigs?
Any time you consider using a product that is new to you and will be ingested in some way into your body it is only logical to ask about potential health risks that might be involved. Suppliers do not believe there is a health risk for the e-cigarette user. The safety has not yet been proven through testing of this new product yet common sense would indicate inhaling a steam vapor is safer than inhaling tobacco smoke.
For years smokers argued that tobacco was a product of nature and thus not dangerous to use. What science proved was that burning tobacco changes the natural aspect and releases thousands of harmful chemicals and carcinogens. We now know for certain that use of tobacco cigarettes is a causative factor for many serious diseases.
Electronic cigarettes first appeared on the market in Europe in 2003 and when they were initially sold in the U.S. they were viewed as a gimmick. Improved batteries and technology have turned the gimmick into a viable and realistic alternative to smoking harmful tobacco.

There is no combustion with e-cigarettes and no carcinogens created by burning. There is nicotine, of course, but by itself nicotine is not considered a health risk. The vapor is produced by propylene glycol and some health concerns and myths focus on the inclusion of propylene glycol.
The FDA approved propylene glycol many years ago as safe for inhalation and it is an ingredient in many products made today. Some will say PG is antifreeze but that is diethylene glycol and a different chemical compound. For over forty years, propylene glycol has been an approved food additive.
No health hazards have been associated with electronic smoking as yet. The product is new and it takes years for thorough testing to be completed. What we do know is that there are few products that carry the health risks of smoking tobacco.
If you buy e-liquid for refillable e-cigarette products it is recommend you buy only from reputable manufacturers. If there is any health risk that has been associated with e-cigarette (s), it is the unreliable quality control of some refill solutions.
If there is any health issue currently associated with e-cigarettes it is the poor quality assurance of some e-liquid producers. Cheaper imported solution have been tested and found to contain widely varied levels of nicotine and other ingredients that are questionable. This may leave a smoker dissatisfied with a low dose of nicotine ot hr msy receive a dose that is too high.
If you choose an electronic cigarette using pre-filled cartridges there is no need to worry about the quality and safety of e-liquid refills as you will never use them. E-cigarettes do not appear to post health or safety concerns for users and are arguably safer than smoking standard cigarettes.
