A Summary Of The Most Memorable Meals I Have Ever Eaten

New York has some of the best restaurants in the world and over the past few years, I have made it a goal of mine to eat at as many of them as possible. It has been no easy task, but I think I have made a solid dent.

Here are some of the best meals I have had in New York.

Gotham was my first experience with fine dining. This restaurant has been a New York staple for over 25 years and with good reason. From the food to the dcor to the service, everything is impeccable and makes for a memorable experience.

Sushi Yasuda, is simply put, the best sushi in New York. I have been to Gari, I have been to Ushiwakamaru, and the other greats (with the exception of Masa and Kuruma Zushi), and I maintain that there is no place like Yasuda. In fact, I have made it a tradition on my birthday to go there for lunch with my mom.

If you are looking for adventure or romance, Blue Hill at Stone Barns is the answer. Located about 30 minutes outside of the city, Dan Barber's farm-to-table masterpiece resides on a farm from which all the dishes are prepared. It redefines freshness.

As of today, Le Bernardin is the best meal I have ever experienced. A friend and I went and did the 9 course chef's tasting, which is a seafood masterpiece. Everything we had was incredible, with the standout being the truffled Langostine.

I am going to Per Se for my birthday, and am holding out hope that this restaurant will trump Le Bernardin as my favorite meal ever. It is currently ranked as the 13th best restaurant in the world, so my expectations are expectedly high.

Il Mulino is an old-world Italian restaurant that transports you to a living room. You better come hungry, and don't fill up on the bread!
