All smokers know that smoking is dangerous and detrimental to their health; they don't need telling… They know that every time they pick up the packet. The problem is that most people don't perceive themselves as having the necessary "willpower" to give up. They know consciously that they should give up and the more they want to give up, the more they don't understand why they can't.

Actually, it's not a question of willpower, but Unconscious Mind programming. Despite plenty of logical proof to the opposite, the Unconscious programming makes the Mind and the Body feel that cigarettes are needed, maybe even good for them: "they help me relax and cope with stress".

But do they really?! Cigarettes increase the stress in the body and they certainly don't help you relax. They do the opposite: nicotine is a very powerful stimulant, significantly increasing your heart rate. Unfortunately, this is not the message being given by the Unconscious Mind, which is saying "Mmmhh, that's better!"

Are you familiar with that inner turmoil? "I really want to quit… But I can't. Why can't I?" The issue is that the smoking behaviour is in the control of the Unconscious Mind, not the Conscious Mind. If the Conscious, logical Mind was in control then smokers would read the Health Warnings and make an instant, logical decision to give up. But it doesn't work that way, does it?

The Unconscious Mind is incorrectly programmed to tell you that cigarettes make you feel better. No wonder you can't make that instant logical decision! The problem is that you can talk to yourself until you're blue in the face about giving up, but it doesn't affect what's in your Unconscious Mind, because you can't access it.
